Aventura Review 2.0 - Kids Suite

Updated: Apr 23

We’ve stayed at Aventura on a few trips now but until recently we had always stayed in ‘Standard Rooms’. Our most recent trip we decided to stay in a Kids Suite for our Halloween Horror Nights trip, and it did not disappoint.

These rooms are a spacious 575 square feet and include a king bed, two twin beds and a couch that converts into a memory foam bed (approximately the size of another twin bed) so the unit sleeps 5 guests. The rooms are separated by a curtain and each section has their own TV so everyone can relax after a long day or night at the parks. Even though it’s just a curtain between the “bedrooms” each section is relatively quiet from each other. The bathroom was also massive featuring a tub to the left and a walk-in shower to the right and a double vanity. We were on the northeast side of the building and our room looked over Sapphire Falls and towards Islands of Adventure and made for a beautiful sight at night.

Like any of the on-site hotels you receive early park admission and if you’re anything like me you want to be there at rope drop to get a jump on the day! I always enjoy the morning rush into the park because it brings a child-like energy to the day. Getting to the park is simple from Aventura with buses running, water taxis a short walk away at Sapphire Falls and of course you can always walk.

Let’s talk about the food at Aventura. I never really got into this in my previous review, but the food options are Urban Pantry in the south end of the lobby which has both American and more diverse flavors available. Also, one of the coolest places on the property is Bar 17 Bistro, this is the rooftop bar and grill but even if you’re not in the mood for food it's an awesome skyline view of the surrounding area! If you can’t find anything in this hotel you can always venture to another property to eat, my favorite would be Bayliner Diner located across the street at Cabana Bay Resort, they’re sure to have something for everyone.

Aventura always provides a comfortable stay at a decent price. I’ve had my criticisms before but staying in the kids suite on this recent stay really made the property much more appealing to me. Not just the size of the room, but these seem to have much more personality to them than just the standard rooms. If you’re looking for a room for a small group or especially older kids who prefer their own space this is definitely worth checking out!
