So, you’re planning a trip to Universal Orlando for September or October, and you’ve never done Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) before? What do you need to know? What do you need to buy? Do you need special tickets? What kind of experience is this? We’ll cover all of that and more in this entry and the follow-ups as we get closer to Halloween Horror Nights 2023!
What is Halloween Horror Nights?
Halloween Horror Nights is the annual Halloween themed event that Universal Studios puts on at their theme parks. It’s a premier event that includes haunted houses, scare zones, special themed food and drink specials and more!
Who is this event for?
Universal has warnings that the event may be too intense for small children and is not recommended for people under 13 years old. However, it’s always at the judgment of the parent or guardian because not all kids would be bothered by any of it. Other than that warning, this event is for anyone and everyone who loves Halloween. It’s absolutely the most fun Halloween event you can go to!
Do I need a special ticket?
This is a specially ticketed event so you’ll need to buy these in advance as some nights will sell out! That being said, Universal Studios closes the park down at 5:00 on event nights but if you have a park ticket for that day and an HHN ticket for that night you can stay in the park in a Stay & Scream Area prior to the event opening! If you don’t have a park ticket for that day but you do have an HHN ticket, you can add-on a Scream Early Ticket to get into the park for the holding area early.
We’re going to be doing a series of these posts relating to Halloween Horror Nights over the coming weeks so check back in or subscribe to our newsletter and get updates as soon as they post!
