Loews Sapphire Falls at Universal Orlando Resort... worth the stay?

Updated: Jun 8, 2023

Picking a hotel to stay at doesn’t seem like it would be a stressful ordeal. In today's world we’re bombarded with so many options that trying to compare and find one that’s right for you seems like a big deal. So, to take some stress out of the situation I’m going to give you my honest opinion about Loews Sapphire Falls Resort at Universal Orlando.

The Outside: (Parking, Entry, Grounds)

Sapphire Falls is easy to find, right next to Aventura and the signage for the parking garage is super noticeable and easy to read. I know that sounds ridiculous, but some hotels have signs pointing to each and every facility which actually creates more confusion sometimes. The grounds are extremely well kept, and the front of the hotel is very inviting.

The Lobby and In Hotel Facilities:

I don't quite know how to explain the scent but when you walk into the Lobby, which is huge but somehow still welcoming, the scent overcomes you. It's not like a potpourri that's masking anything but more of a clean fragrance that you can't quite place the source. Once you're in the lobby and start to scan the area you'll see it's really easy to find your way around. All the standard places you'd be looking for are in sight from the entry.

The Room:

We stayed in a standard Lagoon View room, and we were on the 1st floor since we brought our dogs with us, but the room was spotless when we arrived. The room layout is basically a standard to any hotel, but it did provide ample space and the outlets were placed where they were easily accessible. It’s the small things in life, right?

The Pool:

The pool really begins to show off what you can expect from the Universal Resort Hotels. Keep in mind this is a mid-tier hotel, or a "Preferred" hotel, but the pool is phenomenal and massive enough to handle even a heavy crowd. It has zero entry and water features for the little kids as well as water slides for the bigger kids, which is great for families.

The Comfort Stuff: (Beds, Baths, Towels, The Nitty-Gritty)

Alright, I've gone into a general idea of the different spaces but let's talk about the details. The beds were comfortable but not the type that will put you to sleep, they definitely left something to be desired. The pillows and linens are what you would expect from a mid-tier hotel, no complaints there. The biggest advantage I found staying here were the ways to get to the park. Right outside on the Lagoon are the water taxis which are a super pleasant way to start the morning and head to the park. You can also walk which is manageable in 10 to 15 minutes leisurely or take buses to the parks.

In conclusion, Loews Sapphire Falls is a great choice if you want a full resort feel. It’s also the most affordable pet friendly on-site hotel to the parks. If you're like us and try to take your pets on vacation with you as often as you can I would definitely recommend checking it out. It’s close to everything, super comfortable, and we found our stay to be very enjoyable. Good luck and we hope this helps!
