Aventura Hotel is the 4th hotel we’ve stayed at Universal Orlando Resort in the past year and its grand design, stunning views, and high-end atmosphere make this a standout. However, it is a great value but may not be the best place to stay for everyone. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion so I’ll try to stay as unbiased as possible, but I will weigh in my own opinion at the end.
The Outside:
The building itself is absolutely stunning. It has such a fresh and modern design it's impossible to ignore. The grounds are well kept and clean which is a definite plus since this is always the first impression you get when arriving. Parking was easy to navigate with clear signage and ample amount of temporary parking in front of the hotel and in the parking garage. Speaking of the parking garage, it was extremely well lit and also very clean.
The Lobby and Hotel Facilities:
The modern design continues into the lobby. However, aside from a few lights and fun pieces of furniture it seems to lack any real personality. It seemed dark but it was more the aesthetic of the hotel than anything else, definitely aimed at a more adult visitor. The hotel is immaculately well kept however and it's common to see their “robots”, bustling around the lobby and elevators taking items to rooms.
The Room:
The room is fantastic! Very appealing aesthetic, clean and simple. The modern appeal shows off in the room big time with an iPad in the room that controls all the lights, television, park information, menus for the restaurants throughout the resort and any requests you could need from the hotel. We requested a high floor but were only given a 5th floor unit which was fine but the views definitely get better the higher up you are, this is evident from the restaurant on the roof of the hotel.
The Pool:
The pool is nice and comfortable, though not as large as some of the others of the on-site hotels. Again, this hotel is themed more at simplicity and modern design and tends to appeal to a more mature crowd and the pool is right in line with this theme. Don’t expect any lazy rivers or slides like you might expect at Cabana Bay or Sapphire Falls.
The Comfort Stuff: (Beds, Baths, Towels, The Nitty-Gritty)
Now that we’ve looked at the bulk of the places throughout the hotel let’s look at the details. The beds are on the firm side, but I found it to be very comfortable. The bathroom was quite spacious, we had an accessible unit with a full shower and found it to be very nice, great water pressure and easy to control. The cleanliness of the room was top notch, and the towels and washcloths were a high quality that you would expect from a Loews hotel.
Overall:
My complete overview of this hotel is brief, but I do feel comfortable recommending this hotel to a certain type of guest. If your primary target is a very nice place to stay with less craziness and noise than other hotels this is definitely for you. Again, I can’t stress enough how nice the property is but it’s not for everyone, if you’re a fan of bright pops of color, or need a feeling of a lot of activity happening around you, or if you need a hotel that will keep your kids occupied it may be best to look elsewhere. Our stay was super pleasant, great staff, and as usual, it’s always a good stay at Universal Orlando Resort!
