Tips For First Timers At Universal Orlando

Updated: Feb 23, 2023

Everyone has an idea of what they should do to have a great trip. We all know the general ideas and tricks that should work but sometimes a little guidance can go a long way to making a trip more enjoyable. Here are our TOP TIPS FOR FIRST TIME VISITORS:

  • Stay at one of the on site hotels if possible. The early park admission is a great way to get a jump on the day and knock out some rides before peak time. In addition, the ease of transportation to the park from your hotel using the buses or water taxis makes park access much easier. These hotels are also a great idea because you can buy souvenirs and have them sent back to your hotel without having to lug them around all day.

  • Kid’s meals! Don’t think you have to order a regular meal. Many of the kid’s meals are just smaller portions of the standard meals but can save you a good deal of money and the portions are still fairly generous.

  • Do you want to do all the rides or are there certain ones you are trying to get in? Your time is your most valuable asset in the parks so if you want to get in as many rides as possible don’t spend half your day waiting on just a few rides when you could have knocked out most of the rides in the same amount of time. Make a plan, set your goals, but mostly just enjoy your time!

  • Bring a gallon size Zip-Loc or resealable bag for phones, wallets, etc. This is crucial for the water rides.

  • Download the app - it provides you everything you would need to make the most of your day. Wait times, maps, restaurant menus and mobile ordering are just a few of the benefits of having the app!

  • Never, under any circumstances, underestimate the power of the fanny pack! This will make your park day so much easier so just go for it. Ride lockers are always crowded and sometimes a pain. Fanny packs can be worn on all rides except the big coasters, so if you can avoid lockers that's a plus.
